Dad’s Rock. This is your Antenatal class too.
Dad’s are seriously important – I mean seriously. And yes I have said that twice.
At Partners In Pregnancy we take the Dad’s role in the antenatal class (and in rasing baby) seriously. We don’t pretend that doing a bit of back rubbing is enough to “support” Mum, we recognise the important role they play when breastfeeding, and we don’t pretend they “baby sit” to give a mum a rest.
So this part is for the Dad’s – However it’s not a Dad’s only antenatal class
Why? Because a Mum and Dad is a partnership. A partnership that needs to work together to approach this time in your life with flexibility, compassion, and recognition of each others importance in raising your child.
If you need any more convincing that this is as much about him as her – take a look at our name. You are a partnership in raising this child, birthing this baby from the moment you found out you were pregnant.
One of the elements of the V.I.P class is Focus on Fatherhood.
During this session we explore his role
- How to really support her during birth – Guys you’re actually key to making the birth plan work.
- How to recognise and protect her mental health needs
- Recognising and protecting your own mental health needs
- Enhancing your relationship
- How to build that special bond with baby if she is breastfeeding – or not.
- Sex after birth
So if you want to enhance and build your relationship to stand the test of a new baby then this is the class for you.
Because we only have small group sizes, we do book up fast, so don’t hang around.
